Liquid Crystal Glass Header
Liquid Crystal Glass, also know as smart glass or switchable glass is a laminated glass made up from at least two sheets of glazing with a liquid crystal film inter-layered between the glass. With no electrical current passing through the glazing the liquid crystals are not aligned which disperses the light, giving the glass an opaque finish but still allowing light to pass through it.
When voltage is applied the liquid crystal molecules align, allowing the glass to become transparent at the flick of a switch. The switch from opaque to clear glass is almost instantaneous making the use of liquid crystal glazing an excellent product in so many situations.

Liquid Crystal Glass units can be used in areas where blinds have been typically specified. The liquid crystal glazing is a direct replacement for expensive internal and external mechanical blinds, but giving the user instant privacy when switched from clear to opaque glazing without the hassle of installing and maintaining the blinds. When opaque the liquid crystal glazing blocks most ultra violet penetration preventing the fading of material within the room.

The Smart Liquid Crystal Glass has no current passing through it. The molecules scatter the light in all directions which gives the visual impression that the glass is opaque.
Once the liquid crystal glass has an electric current passed through it, the molecules align giving the glass it's clear appearance.
